About This Event
All the art lovers, this is your chance to get to know about your city in an artistic way!
Presented by: Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (TOAF) and Toronto History Museums
"60 Works/60 Years," a display honouring TOAF's 60th birthday, features 60 pieces of art that the City purchased from the Fair during the previous 40 years. This one-of-a-kind show is an artistic representation of how the City's physical, cultural, and emotional landscape has changed over time.
Every year, the Mayor attends the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair with the help of City curators to choose a piece for the municipal collection through the Mayor's Purchase Award (formerly the Toronto Archives Award), which is only given at TOAF. This is a fantastic chance to add pieces by up-and-coming artists to the collection and diversify its viewpoints. George Boyer, Clint Griffin, Dionne Simpson, Ruby Zhang, and Raoul Olou are some of the previous winners. The Mayor's Purchase Award winner for 2021, Vanessa Dion Fletcher, will also have pieces on display.
